Product Marketing AllianceJobs Board

Posting guidelines

The Product Marketing Jobs Board is a board for product marketers, run by product marketers. These rules keep it useful, fair and trustworthy for the people searching it.

Version 2026-10-18. This page is a draft awaiting legal review, and it may change before the Product Marketing Jobs Board launches publicly.

What counts as a product marketing role

Roles where product marketing is the core of the job. That includes product marketing managers at every level, from associate to VP, and specialist PMM roles such as:

  • Product launch and go-to-market
  • Positioning and messaging
  • Competitive and market intelligence
  • Technical and developer product marketing
  • Solutions, industry and portfolio marketing
  • Pricing and packaging, growth and lifecycle PMM

We also accept close neighbors of product marketing, like customer marketing, partner marketing and sales enablement. They're labeled “Adjacent role” on the board so job seekers can filter them in or out.

We don't accept product management, sales, engineering, recruitment, or general marketing roles such as performance, paid social, SEO or content writing, unless product marketing is clearly the main job.

What every post needs

  • A real, open role at a real company, that you're actively hiring for and authorised to advertise. No "talent pipeline" posts for roles that don't exist yet.
  • An honest title, location and work mode. If a role is remote, say where people can work from.
  • Whether the role is permanent, fixed-term, contract or temporary.
  • A working apply link or address on your own site or applicant tracking system.
  • An industry and company size, so people can filter for roles that suit them.

Salary is optional, but posts with a salary get more applicants, and a growing number of places require pay information by law. Salary is required for Highlight & Pin.

Fair and lawful wording

In the UK the Equality Act 2010 makes it unlawful to discriminate in job adverts because of a protected characteristic: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race (including colour, nationality and national origin), religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation. Wording that suggests you only want certain people can put others off and is evidence of discrimination, even when that isn't the intent. Describe the skills and experience the job needs, not the person. For example:

  • Age: not "young and dynamic team", "recent graduate", "digital native" or an age range. Try "a collaborative, fast-moving team" or the actual experience level, like "0 to 2 years in marketing".
  • Race and nationality: not "native English speaker" or "British nationals only". Try "fluent written and spoken English". You can and should say if you can't sponsor a visa, or if the role needs a security clearance with its own nationality rules.
  • Sex: not "salesman", "he will" or "female candidates only". Use neutral job titles and "you" or "they".
  • Disability and health: not "able-bodied" or "physically fit", unless the job truly needs it. Mention the actual task instead, and say how candidates can ask for adjustments.
  • Pregnancy, family and marriage: never ask for people without children or of a particular marital status.
  • Religion or belief: no religious requirements, unless the law allows one for that job.

The law allows a few exceptions, for example where having a protected characteristic is a genuine occupational requirement, or for lawful positive action. If you rely on one, say so in the post and be ready to explain it to our moderators.

How we check: when you submit a post, an automated check looks for wording like the examples above and flags it for our moderators. It never rejects a post on its own: a moderator reads the post and decides. If the wording isn't lawful we'll ask you to change it, and we decline posts that are clearly discriminatory. Employers are responsible for their adverts, and when you submit a post you confirm it's lawful.

Recruitment agencies and employment businesses

We're not taking posts from recruitment agencies yet. The Product Marketing Jobs Board is for companies hiring directly for their own teams. If you're hiring directly, choose "No, I'm hiring in-house" when you add your company. If you're an agency, we'd love to hear from you for later: email jobs@productmarketingalliance.com.

What we don't allow

  • Roles that ask candidates to pay for anything, including training, equipment or applications.
  • Commission-only or unpaid roles presented as jobs. Genuine paid internships are welcome.
  • Multi-level marketing, crypto token promotion, adult content, gambling promotion, or anything illegal.
  • Discriminatory wording or requirements (see above), or anything that collects personal data beyond a normal application.
  • Posts from recruitment agencies or employment businesses, or posts for roles that don't exist.
  • Duplicate posts. To keep a role visible, extend or re-pin it rather than posting it again.

How moderation works

Every employer post is reviewed by the PMA team before it goes live, usually within one business day. We may ask you to change something, or decline a post that doesn't meet these guidelines. We'll always tell you why, except for obvious automated spam. If you disagree with a decision, email jobs@productmarketingalliance.com and a person will look at it again.

Roles we collect from company careers pages are checked daily and removed as soon as they close. If you see a role that looks wrong, report it and we'll take a look. Companies can ask us to stop listing their roles on our listing removal page.

Repeated or serious breaches can lead to posts being removed and accounts or domains being blocked. See the terms for details.
