Senior Product Marketing Manager

Outpost24 is on the hunt for a Senior Product Marketing Manager based in Europe to add to our excellent product marketing team!

About Outpost24

Outpost24 is a leading cybersecurity vendor in Europe that helps CISOs and security teams identify what threats matter most. Founded in 2001, we are headquartered in Sweden and the US, with additional offices in the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, France, and Spain.

About the Product Marketing Team

We are a team of 3 that reports to our Chief Marketing Officer and sits within the larger marketing team. The larger team includes lead generation, content, and marketing ops colleagues. Our task is to sit between Product and Marketing and Product and Sales and Product and The Market to own the messaging and positioning of our products and design GTM plans that support our target and company strategy.

What we are looking for

You are a great storyteller who relies on customer research to build your market hypotheses. You are expertly skilled at building rapport quickly – whether that’s with another department colleague or a customer you’ve never spoken with before during a case study interview.

You take initiative. Your brain lights up from spinning out new ideas for marketing campaigns or new conversation paths for Sales. You are the driver behind your best ideas - bringing every party across departments you need together to make it come to life. Tackling a big project your organization has never done before excites you and you know you can make it happen because you’ve tackled the unknown before.

You are OK with failing. You know failure is a part of product and marketing hypotheses but you also know how to define failure because defining success with metrics ahead of any GTM move is built into your DNA. You don’t stop at failure – you let it propel you forward into your contingency plan or next idea.

Technical subjects do not intimidate you. You are expert at breaking down things you don’t understand into defined pieces and identifying who or what can help you grasp the concept well enough to explain it in simple terms to non-technical colleagues.

Presentations are a regular part of how you communicate. Whether you are presenting the latest findings from some customer research or training colleagues on messaging, you are incredibly comfortable with the medium and consistently get great feedback.

You are an excellent writer. You proactively reject the use of jargon and instead seek out the language of your target’s voice – whether that’s an internal stakeholder or an external customer.

You might not be a good fit if

You likely won’t be a good fit if you are easily intimidated by people who are senior to you in a company. This role will collaborate with leaders across departments to deliver on our revenue goals and should be ready to work with colleagues of all levels, pushing for your ideas that you believe in no matter the CVs at the table.

You likely won’t be a good fit if you need a long time to onboard to technical concepts. You might not know it all right away but this role needs to be comfortable enough with technical concepts to start taking initiative early and work with what you have to get GTM plans out the door while continuing to upskill in your product category. (We all always have more to learn!)

You likely won’t be a good fit if you glaze over when it comes to numbers and data. This role needs to drive informed market hypotheses and next steps to GTM campaigns. That requirement means you need to be comfortable and fluent in basic data concepts like sample size and statistical significance as well as question the why behind the data.

What you will do

  • Educate customer facing teams (direct sales, channel partners, customer success and support teams) about the customer’s perception of value and how Outpost24 delivers it.
  • Compare substitute solutions or competitive approaches to solving the same problems that Outpost24 does, clearly identifying differences.
  • Stay on top of market and customer trends to better inform positioning, messaging, and new campaigns.
  • Lead GTM for your product category, collaborating with product and marketing teams to ensure customer messages are clearly articulated.
  • Create compelling content for a variety of communication channels (digital, video, group presentation, or one-on-one interaction) that map into critical customer interactions.
  • Lead industry analyst relations, working with Product Management to craft compelling pitches and briefings to influence Outpost24 position in market reports.

What you have

  • 5+ years’ experience in product marketing, ideally in a technical or security B2B space
  • Deep understanding of the cybersecurity industry and the CISO persona
  • Experience owning and leading a product marketing initiative – whether that was a customer advisory board, an analyst relations program, a new cross-sell strategy or something else
  • Strong organization skills, self-starting can-do attitude with the ability to adapt to new and unusual situations and changing conditions and priorities.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including writing, interpersonal and verbal communication skills, and an eye for good design.
  • Strong operational knowledge of B2B marketing and communication across multiple channels and with mixed media.

But what's in it for you?

Working at Outpost24 means:

  • The exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced international environment and gain hands-on international experience
  • A comprehensive set of tools, training, and coaching on the job (e.g., LinkedIn Learning)
  • Great in-house development opportunities
  • A healthy work-life balance, which means you can enjoy flexible working hours
  • An organizational culture founded on trust, respect, adaptability, and commitment, where your personal and professional development will be emphasized
  • A flat organizational structure and lots of autonomy, you are not just a number
  • Competitive compensation

And so much more!
