Product Marketing Director

We have been retained for a client on their search for a Product Marketing Director who is passionate about delivering revenue generating solutions to customers. Our client is experiencing hyper-growth, has an incredible company culture and a CEO with a 99% approval rating.


Cloud innovation, the power of real-time behavioral data and accelerating customers’ go-to-market plans are some of the things that get you excited. Your team will own the end-to-end messaging and value proposition of a set of value-added applications for the communication service provide industry.


As a Product Marketing Director - you will be responsible for the outbound marketing activities for a suite of cloud based solutions that are disrupting the communications industry. Crafting messages and position for the solutions, developing go-to-market strategy, managing lead generation and prospect nurturing campaigns are critical to the success of the portfolio. You will also be involved in sales enablement including the delivery of key messages to their customers and prospects (B2B2C).


We are looking for someone that is as comfortable driving strategy as you are rolling up your sleeves to work through messaging or represent your solutions at key events.

You will also develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand, working closely with Product Management to generate demand for new applications as they are announced and launched into your portfolio of products. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits is crucial. Technical writing, original thought and creative ingenuity are musts for this position.


An understanding of marketing and general manager personas in the communication service provider industry is key to this opportunity.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates your solutions in the market – Clearly articulate why value-added solutions from a Communications Service Provider is so critical – helping both the CSP and the subscriber understand this value.
  • Product evolution – work with Product Line Leadership to evolve the portfolio based on market and customer feedback.
  • Sales enablement – communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of your products
  • Product announcements and launch – plan the announcements and launch of new products and quarterly releases, manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan
  • Market intelligence – be the expert on your buyers (CSPs), how they buy and their buying criteria; how they sell to their subscribers, be the expert on your competition and how to beat them
  • Demand generation – develop the strategy and manage the marketing programs that drive demand for your products in collaboration with our DG team
  • Be the face and voice of your solutions within the organization and to the market
  • Evangelize the portfolio, your products and your product benefits
  • Develop effective digital marketing strategies and plans
  • Lead outbound marketing activities
  • Champion the brand and boost demand of our products at events and in digital marketing
  • Craft compelling messages
  • Author original digital and social media content including blogs, web, collateral, solution briefs, white papers, social media articles and more


Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of software, cloud, broadband, premises or home networking marketing experience with at least 4+ years’ experience in a field facing role
  • Experience with value-added solutions and applications essential
  • SMB and residential experience an asset
  • Bachelor’s in business or marketing, MBA preferred
  • Very strong written communication skills including technical marketing
  • Willing to travel 25%
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties.
  • Integrated marketing campaigns
  • Proficiency in SFDC desired
