Technical Product Marketing Manager

We are looking for an experienced Technical Product Marketing Manager with startup experience in enterprise data infrastructure to influence our go-to-market strategy and product. In this position, you will be responsible for driving product-market fit, matching the product to the right buyers, and driving our go-to-market activities. Additionally, you will be driving messaging and positioning of Bodo’s universal data and AI compute platform.


You will have comprehensive knowledge of the competitive landscape and competitors ’ messaging. This will help you develop effective product messaging that differentiates Bodo from others, clearly articulating our technology and products’ advantages.


You will also know the buyer stakeholders/personas and their pain points extremely well, as well as the key factors in their decision-making process including psychological factors. You will use this knowledge to collaborate with our Product and Sales team and develop effective positioning and messaging that resonates with customers and empowers our sales channels. To be successful, you will also need to possess knowledge of data analytics, AI, and cloud computing.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Driving Market Fit requires understanding and knowledge in two fundamental directions 1) Product/offer and 2) Market/Customers. You will be responsible for driving the market fit with aligned product, value, vision, and price. Core to this function is guiding GTM motions, pricing, sales enablement and channel alignment.
  • Engage with technology and business teams (Product, Partner and Solution teams) to help ensure that the right offer makes its way to market and that it meets specific customer needs.
  • Drive the development of marketing collateral and channels that are used to communicate product awareness, compelling value and relevance to each customer segment, and help highlight differentiation from alternatives. Core functions include messaging, content, corporate communications, and customer marketing
  • Knowledge and understanding of the overall market, and an opportunity to provide context, relevance and differentiation back to product development and marketing. Core functions include gauging the market opportunity, defining the market segments, and a candid look at the competitor landscape.
  • Develop a keen understanding of the buying behavior that helps reach customers more effectively such as defining customer requirements, customer segmentation, and the buyer’s journey. 
  • Develop product messaging that differentiates new products and services from others in the market and resonates with target buyer personas. Translate technical details into benefits for the user for product messaging. 
  • Understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned.
  • Act as the thought leader for the product externally, including speaking engagements and written works to promote the story of our product. 


ABOUT YOU:


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or marketing; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of enterprise software product marketing experience with at least 2 years of experience in a market-facing role (e.g. delivering presentations to customers and prospects, conducting competitor analysis and market research)
  • Technical hands-on experience with data science, DevOps, big data, high-performance computing, infrastructure, or cloud computing software.
  • Possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to clearly and concisely demonstrate business value for customers.
  • A team player with excellent people and management skills to interact with the marketing team, cross-functional teams, and third parties. 
  • Must be a strong public speaker, comfortable in front of large, senior groups, and a solid writer that is willing to travel up to 25%.
