Position overview:

The Senior Product Marketing Manager, focused on curriculum products, will understand client needs, market opportunities, and the competitive landscape and use this knowledge to build excitement and tools that drive new sales and client retention. Essential to this position is a deep understanding of marketing, the ability to guide and work effectively with cross-functional teams, the ability to convey appropriate technical information to executive level business and academic decision makers, and the ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally. S/he will have deep experience for creating relevant and engagement marketing content to support the strategy including but not limited to blogs, white paper, e-books, video, webinars, success stories, landing pages, microsites, sales collateral, and social posts, to name a few. 

 

Both a strategic thinker and a strong executor, s/he should have a passion for the education industry, an understanding of how technology and education intersect to drive innovation; and aspirations for deep knowledge into specific segments of the industry, with laser focus on how our products are uniquely positioned to meet market demand, opportunities, and challenges. 

 

Specific roles and responsibilities:

  • Articulate product positioning and messaging for target audiences, differentiating products from competition.
  • Develop client-facing content to be used in campaigns (presentations, case studies, email copy, call scripts, web-based resources, video, recorded demos).
  • Work closely with the product management and content development teams to fully understand the product features, functionality, and enhancements.
  • Develop go-to-market and marketing plans for product launches and orchestrate execution of plans.
  • Coordinate with product management, campaign and events marketing, public relations and operations, as appropriate, for product launches and campaigns to drive new sales and renewals.
  • Promote products through conference presentations and training.
  • Deliver presentations to prospects and clients, in-person and via the web.
  • Provide sales enablement support including sales training, tools (playbooks, battlecards, scripts, presentations) and demonstrations.
  • Develop a social media strategy and content to support both product launches and ongoing lifecycle management.
  • Define and track project success metrics.
  • Ensure content meets brand standards and editorial guidelines.
  • Help to build a dynamic and productive sales funnel, leveraging content to move from prospect to buyer.
  • Research competition, current customers, and industry trends to develop compelling content strategies.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in of applicable B2B product or solutions marketing, or applicable, experience in the Education or Technology industry
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required. (A degree in Marketing, Business, or Education is highly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of education & training industry, buyers, and influencers.
  • Ability to translate client needs into marketing requirements and effective messaging and positioning.
  • Ability to quickly master new technologies, particularly enterprise software.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and oral. Writing samples will be requested.
  • Strong project management and coordination skills; and ability to excel in a fluid, cross-functional, collaborative team environment.
  • Understanding of brand storytelling and ability to own the content development workflow: ideation, research, writing, and execution.
  • Ability to work independently and execute on strategic objectives.
  • Ability to demonstrate creative decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
  • A can-do attitude with passion and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
