Mission:


Bill.com is looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager for our mid market segment. This top company initiative is a major growth driver, as we are rapidly growing from our SMB roots to a more complex go-to-market model targeting midsize companies and leveraging a VAR channel. This role will be a critical strategist and will bring expertise in the mid market to enterprise marketing and sales models.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives on turning today’s idea into tomorrow’s execution and seeing an immediate impact. We have strong traction in this segment, but there is plenty of room to make your mark in this burgeoning market segment. In this role, you are the expert on customer pain points, competitive landscape, and the product market fit of our different product features. You will leverage qualitative and quantitative research to derive learnings to influence marketing decisions, messaging and positioning, product roadmaps, and enable sales to better acquire customers. You will launch new products and features, create campaigns and vertical strategy, and write and develop content from thought leadership to sales decks.  


Location: Our new headquarters are based in San Jose. Open to Remote – preferably based in the Bay Area or ability to work west coast hours.


Professional Experience/Background to be successful in this role:

  • Strategic Thinker and Executor: Ability to articulate large complex challenges and plan holistically to develop and execute well-thought out solutions
  • Product Expert: Intimately know the product. Launch and monetize new features to the installed base as well as to prospects by developing the messaging and core upsell programs and by partnering with the Sales and Support teams.  
  • Customer Expert and Champion: Be the voice of the customer. Know the customer needs, buyer journey, language, and overall mindset of the mid market segments and turn those insights into messages and programs that resonate. Champion the customer needs across the company
  • Collaborative Partner: Ability to work cross functionally and influence without authority
  • Sales Enabler: Work closely with the sales team to deliver sales plays and tools to close new business, especially for our larger customers. Continue to evolve the process to address objections, competition, new capabilities and market shifts
  • Competitive Guru: Stay on top of the competition for this market segment. Develop competitive battle cards and keep the product and sales teams informed about changes in the competitive landscape. Be a champion for new features that are important to stay ahead of competition
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to take a data-driven approach to measure, assess and recommend where to focus. Deeply understand the business metrics (e.g., funnel metrics, test results, sales process insights) and conduct customer research to uncover new insights


Competencies (Attributes needed to be successful in this role):

  • 8+ years of marketing experience with three as a product marketer, with an emphasis on product marketing for B2B SaaS products
  • The ideal candidate will have mid-market to enterprise scale experience and will know the fintech market
  • Experience at a consulting firm a plus
  • Success driving results in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • MBA or Master’s preferred, but not required

3 Months:

Learned the product and capable of giving demos

Conducted numerous customer conversations that allow you to feel confident articulating customer pains and benefits to advocate for the customer and to build out actionable value propositions

Led and developed go-to-market strategies for one or more new features and partnered with marketing, product, sales and customer support stakeholders to develop campaigns


6 Months:

Written multiple pieces of content and managed several projects that have a material impact on the business

Beat or meet the lead generation goals shared with the Growth team through data, testing, and insights

Are seen as a reliable, trusted and knowledgeable teammate among working groups
