Senior Product Marketing Manager

Remote Lyon, Rhône, France

Please note, you do not necessarily need to speak French to qualify for this role. Location is flexible but you would be required to travel to Lyon several times a month.

DECATHLON OUTDOOR is the digital service that aims at making people enjoy the outdoors. Our website and mobile application provide thousands of hiking and cycling itineraries, and a unique experience of outdoor GPS navigation.

CONTEXT / PROJECT


After our first two seasons on the market, we are working to improve our users' experience, grow our community and explore new business models for Decathlon. More specifically, we are still strengthening our product market fit in France, adjusting our product vision and getting ready to scale globally. We are looking for a Sr. Product Marketing Manager to help us bring Decathlon Outdoor to the next level collaborating closely with Product Management, Product Design and our Marketing team. 


PRODUCT MARKETING


Product marketing is all about bringing the right product to the right users in the right markets. PMMs are responsible for the product go-to-market success of their products through continuous iterations as well as representing the voice of the end-user in our digital product organization.This person will have a knack for taking complex products, distilling them, and understanding where their value lives. They will have a talent for knowing who their audience is and how to meet their needs. We create amazing solutions to sustainably make the pleasure and benefits of sport accessible to the many, and we want a Sr. Product Marketing Manager that helps us bring them to life. 

  

 YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct research and analysis of market for Decathlon Outdoor, including user needs, market sizing, and competitive landscape
  • Act as the voice-of-the-customer to the wider product team, providing qualitative and quantitative insights to inspire, lead and challenge the product direction 
  • Collaborate with central and local teams, to define and orchestrate your product go-to-market strategy including positioning and messaging 
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the commercial success of your product
  • Partner cross functionally with communications and marketing teams to develop product content and campaigns that carry product messages to market


THE TALENT WE ARE LOOKING FOR


  • Minimum of 5 years experience in product marketing, product management, or lifecycle marketing within a B2C context


  • Strong analytical skills - ability to analyze, interpret and leverage data to identify new business opportunities and define new KPIs to measure and report success 


  • Excellent communication skills - able to distill sophisticated ideas into clear, compelling value propositions demonstrating product benefits and capabilities 


  • Advanced commercial awareness and product understanding - deep understanding of how our business and markets operate as well as of the product development process to help shape or iterate product business models


  • Problem solving skills - passion for solving problems creatively, starting small, failing fast, and applying your learnings


  • Stakeholder management - experience partnering, influencing and aligning with multiple stakeholders across different functions, levels and markets 


  • Strategic thinking - ability to balance long-term vision with short and medium-term goals


  • Adaptability - ability and willingness to engage in a fast-moving and international environment
