Senior Product Marketing Lead

Remote Edinburgh, City Of Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom

About the role

Dayshape is a single product company that’s grown rapidly from start-up to scale-up, and established a baseline of product marketing practices and processes. We now need a seasoned product marketing leader to turn our market insights into deliverables that drive new business growth. We’re looking for a software product marketing specialist who has the skills to oversee content marketing (you will manage our two content marketers so we tell a consistent, relevant story throughout the buyer journey).

In addition to determining product marketing strategy, this is a hands-on role collaborating with product and commercial teams to execute your plan, including; conducting win-loss interviews, staying abreast of competitors and analyst trends, and creating sales enablement. In short, you’ll know both what to do, and how to do it.

What you’ll do

  • Develop, own, execute and improve product marketing strategy to drive new business growth, including improving processes, competitor intelligence, win-loss analysis, and product marketing KPIs.
  • Spend time “in market” (conducting win/loss, customer discovery, attending events, analyst relations etc.) to become an expert on pains and priorities, regulatory standards, competitive differentiation, use cases, and how Dayshape delivers value.
  • Share insights and make recommendations to product and commercial teams that enable the business to make informed decisions.
  • Update, maintain and create value propositions and messaging across geographical markets, for several buyer and user personas.
  • Manage and mentor the content marketing team, ensuring full-funnel alignment with the product story and vision, from thought leadership to product videos.
  • Be responsible for consistent product messaging across the company, fostering collaboration on communications, including website, sales enablement and release documents.
  • Define, create and maintain sales enablement assets, processes, and technology.

About you

  • At least 5 years’ B2B product marketing experience, predominantly at enterprise software companies with long sales cycles, complex DMUs, and 6-figure+ deals.
  • Can demonstrate success building or scaling an immature product marketing function.
  • A product marketing background primarily focused on new business growth, rather than customer retention and/or upsell.
  • Can demonstrate ability applying market insights and intelligence into outputs that have made a measurable business impact.
  • Proven at transforming technical features and concepts into product positioning, and positioning into content plans and/or messaging frameworks.
  • Proactively collaborative; with colleagues, target audiences, and industry experts.
  • An effective influencer cross-functionally.
  • Always up to date with the latest product marketing thought leadership, techniques and trends.
  • Highly adaptable, providing leadership one minute, strategically solving problems the next, and rolling up your sleeves to get things done.
  • Self-motivated and acts with urgency, passionate about high quality work, but prioritising delivery over perfection.

Bonus points if you have

  • Built a product marketing function at an enterprise tech scale-up.
  • Knowledge of professional services organisations, particularly accounting firms.
  • Experience of both cloud and on-premise software.
  • Implemented product marketing related technology, for example, sales enablement software.
  • Experience managing or mentoring product and/or content marketers
