Product Marketing Specialist

Ahh, product marketing. When it's poorly defined, it goes like this:


Product people build a product and put it on the proverbial shelf when it's done.

Product marketing people come in and take said product off the shelf, and try to put it to market – without getting insights and perspectives from commercial teams on how to make that new feature sparkle.


We do things a little bit differently here at Pleo. We have a dedicated Product Marketing team of three delivering impactful launches, customer education and qualitative user testing, all driven by a symbiotic relationship with product, design, CS, sales and marketing – without a shelf insight.


If that sounds complex, don’t worry; we also have fun. Like the time when we had ten puppies in the office for a day while filming a product launch video. Who said product marketing had to be ruff?

But how do we add a couple of zeros to that number? it’s simple: by scaling our teams, going upmarket, launching new markets and broadening the Pleo product experience – that’s how! 


We are looking for an energised and experienced Product Marketing Specialist to join us on the journey. 


In this role, you'll have key priorities, interlocked and connected to big, company wide initiatives:


1) Competitive Intelligence (or "CI", if you know the lingo) – coordinating Competitive Intel communications to support leadership and teams across the organisation including Product, Brand, Marketing, Sales and CX.


2) Education – supporting our CX and Sales Enablement crew to make sure our customer and lead-facing comms are not just on-point, but delivered in a scalable, systematic and structured way. 


3) Localisation – supporting with the coordination of translating marketing content across our 6 markets.

Things you will be doing:

  • Lead the Competitive Intel programme. Lead competitor and industry analysis, distribution of Competitive Intel through weekly targeted newsletters, industry landscape presentations, market reports. 
  • Work closely with sales enablement and cross-selling enablement for CX: Creating internal battle cards, external comparison materials, updates for the Pleo board, making sure all sales collateral is up to date.
  • Manage comprehensive, cross-functional activities including full launches, betas, positioning, value proposition, product adoption initiatives, product documentation and commercial collateral.
  • Support our International Product Managers with localisation management.
  • Implement and distribute the monthly Pleo product newsletter.
  • Manage Pleo app store presence across markets and product update content.


Who you are:

  • A product marketing, communications or CX professional from a high-performance culture and team, preferably B2B – or even better if within the world of fintech.
  • A diligent timekeeper – with great project prioritisation skills.
  • You’ve got the knack for working with repeatable processes, with a high attention to detail.
  • A strong presentator and native collaborator.
  • An excellent, sharp communicator in English – you get to the point quickly and with panache.
  • It’s a huge bonus if you speak any of the languages of our other markets (Hey! Hej! Hallo! Hallå! ¡Hola!)
