Product Marketing Manager - Sequoia Founder Products

Menlo Park, CA

Team Scope:

The Founder Products, Product Marketing manager will report to the Sr. Director of Founder Community Programs. Sequoia’s Community Programs team is responsible for five primary efforts for the firm:

  1. Founder research efforts that enhance internal empathy for Sequoia founders and highlight opportunities to serve founders more effectively. 
  2. Founder journey and experience management during partnership with Sequoia. This starts with new founder onboarding experience and continues through key touchpoints and milestones along the way. 
  3. Design and execution of exclusive company design programs and curriculum that help early and growth stage Sequoia founders build enduring companies. 
  4. Strategy and execution around key relationship building and networking programs for Sequoia founders. 
  5. Founder adoption of proprietary Sequoia products and community building programs. 


Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced marketer to lead the positioning, messaging, adoption and engagement of our digital founder products, including Ampersand, our Sequoia community app. 


We also have several micro-products in development, so the product marketer will be responsible for partnering with product, engineering, design and content to define audience needs, present the voice of the founder, and build out and execute GTM strategy throughout the product cycle. 


Key Responsibilities and Competencies:

  • Collaborate with internal Design, Investor, Product, Content and Experience teams to design, build, operationalize and execute products that meet founder needs
  • Partner with content to build out our asynchronous content strategy
  • Be Marketing’s representative and key collaborator on all Founder products, defining the messaging and positioning as well as GTM
  • Drive the adoption and engagement of Sequoia’s founder app and other digital products
  • Manage all founder communication channels (email, Ampersand, etc.)
  • Proposing new initiatives based on product and founder needs


About You:

  • +5 years of work experience, with at least 3 years experience as a product marketer in either consumer, SMB or B2B products.
  • Affinity and sincere interest in helping founders and emerging technology companies
  • Mature and approachable presence; excellent verbal and written communicator
  • Creative problem solver, excels at executing and quickly adapting plans for effectiveness
  • High EQ, with a special ability and inclination to build inclusive connections and respect among individuals with different background, skill sets and perspectives 
  • Team player who seeks input and opportunities to collaborate and drive alignment
