Tyler Technologies is the leading provider of software and services to the public sector. We are seeking a Software Product Marketing Manager to focus on our Civic Services software business. 


The Product Marketing Manager will provide insights about go-to-market strategy, competitive positioning, and overall Civic Services software market trends to management, sales, marketing, and the product team. Tyler’s Civic Services includes Community Development, Asset Management, and Business Management systems that local governments use. They will do this by analyzing market, buyer, competitor, and technology trends while coordinating software product launches and assisting with analysis and definition of go-to-market strategies and growth initiatives.


The overarching goal of the position is to place Tyler Technologies in a dominant competitive position and to drive revenue for the products for which they are responsible.


Travel: 10-25%


Responsibilities

  • Contribute to go to market strategies and planning including assistance with market sizing, segmentation, addressable market analysis, buyer personas, competitive analysis, differentiators, and helping to advise on the direction of product, marketing, and sales team plans to bring new products to market.
  • Support the launch of new products including coordinating the launch plan and helping to define product positioning, compelling messages, packaging, pricing, and product naming while advising on and monitoring demand generation, operational readiness, sales enablement, and metrics.
  • Identify and track metrics to determine the effectiveness of product marketing activities.
  • Help client-facing teams to understand new products and functionality to promote sales, adoption, and strong references.
  • Direct competitive intelligence activities to develop SWOT analysis, sales tools, and product recommendations.
  • Conduct win/loss interviews with prospects and new clients, summarize findings, and provide recommendations.
  • Collect, analyze and synthesize key market, buyer, product, and competitive insights and trends from multiple sources to develop insightful recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain strong working knowledge of the Civic Services software, major trends, needs, and competitors.
  • Travel to meet clients and attend industry events as needed.


Qualifications

  • Have a passion for product marketing and the desire to become an expert with technical products and solutions.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in business, management, marketing, finance or other related discipline. An MBA is a preferred.
  • Have 2-4+ years’ product marketing experience in the software market, ideally for Civic Services or city/county government.
  • Have experience with the Civic Services industry.
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude and capable of building strong networks and working relationships by effectively influencing people.
  • Have an ability to self-manage projects from initial conception to completion.
  • Understand technical solutions, manage large amounts of data and organize it into meaningful presentations.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment while handling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Be flexible and able to pivot quickly when priorities change.
  • Have strong analytical skills. Experience in strategic market analysis, competitive intelligence, and/or business model analysis is preferred.
  • Be comfortable funneling constructive criticism into new ideas.
  • Have outstanding oral and written presentation skills – able to communicate ideas in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
  • Demonstrate advanced skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Experience with Power BI and MS Dynamics CRM is a plus.
