What's the opportunity?

Olivine is looking to hire 1-3 part-time freelance Product Marketing Associates to work on client projects in addition to two other brands the Olivine partners own (Momentum and The Founder’s Marketing Playbook).

This is a truly unique opportunity to work with a team of seasoned product marketers, content marketers, and designers and get exposed to a wide variety of brands, people, and projects. You'll collaborate closely with the Olivine team as well as client stakeholders at top companies across sales, marketing, sales enablement and product. You will support Olivine by contributing to content, assets and materials for a variety of touch points, including marketing strategy workshops, sales collateral, product landing pages, product announcements, internal content and more.

The Product Marketing Associate role is the perfect for someone who is either currently freelancing or wants to start freelancing with the benefit of a team to connect with and learn from.

What will you be doing?

As a Product Marketing Associate Contractor, some of the things you will contribute to:

  • Attend client workshops to take notes and compile inputs for deliverables. Workshops tend to be on brand positioning, personas, Jobs to Be Done, product messaging etc.
  • Develop customer facing sales and marketing materials for clients. This could include landing page content, sales pitch decks, personas, customer stories, blog posts, email copy.
  • Copywriting and proofreading for marketing collateral.
  • Conduct research on competitive landscape and product marketing best practices.

What skills/traits do I need?

  • Self-starter attitude and a bias towards action
  • Accountability for completing work on time
  • Eager to learn, receive constructive feedback, and try new things
  • Passion for technology and general understanding of how technical products work
  • Storyteller who loves finding unique ways to communicate the value of brands
  • Bonus points if you are comfortable with Zoom, Asana, Google Docs/Slides/Sheets, Loom, Miro, and Slack.

What experience do I need?

  • 1-3 years experience in product marketing, copywriting, or sales role. Bonus points if you’ve worked in B2B SaaS.

What’s the commitment?

  • Starting in Mid-February, we’d need 10-15 hours a week.
  • When you work is mostly flexible, but you’d need to be able to attend team and client meetings during weekdays in PST/EST timezones.
  • We’d start with a paid test project, and then a 3-month trial period and if it’s a good mutual fit, we’d expand your hours and term.

What’s in it for me?

  • Flexible working hours so you can grocery shop weekday mornings when everyone else is at work.
  • 100% remote — work from anywhere, as long as your working hours overlap with US PST and EST time zones.
  • By working with multiple clients and projects, you’ll build your skills and network faster than working at one company full-time.
  • Diverse team from all over the world. Our teammates are based in San Francisco, Boston, Philadelphia, Asheville, Canada, Argentina, Portugal and more.
  • Supportive, happy teammates who genuinely care about each other and what we do in and outside work.
  • Unlike most agencies, we don’t take on too much work and we don’t work with jerk clients.

How to apply

  • Send an email to apply@olilvinemarketing.com with the subject line: “Product Marketing Associate Contractor” by February 5, 2021.
  • Record a 5-minute Loom introducing yourself and letting us know why you’re excited about the opportunity and why you think you’d be a good fit for the role.
  • Include a link to your LinkedIn profile.
  • Optional but appreciated: attach your resume, link to your website, and links to sample work you’ve accomplished (blog posts, landing pages, etc.).
  • Let us know what your hourly rate is which we will use for your paid test project (ballpark is fine, we can discuss together what feels right for everyone). People who don’t submit their hourly rate won’t be considered.

The Olivine team will review initial applications, and then for people we’d like to get to know better, we will set up a Zoom interview. After that we’ll assign you a paid test project to see if it is a mutually good fit.
