Principal Product Marketing Manager, Red Hat OpenShift

Job summary

The Red Hat Product Marketing team is looking for a Principal Product Marketing Manager to join us in Raleigh, NC, San Francisco Bay Area, or Westford, MA. In this role, you will define and carry out the marketing strategy for the joint solutions between Red Hat OpenShift and our fast-growing independent software vendor (ISV) ecosystem for applications and data services. You will join a dynamic and strategic product marketing team working to maintain and expand Red Hat OpenShift's leadership as the premier enterprise multi cloud container development platform based on Kubernetes. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Develop understanding of customer goals and challenges, target markets, use cases, sales motions, and the joint solutions between Red Hat OpenShift and ISV ecosystem for applications and data services
  • Develop marketing strategy aligned with market directions and supported by the roadmap and releases of our offerings and implement it
  • Collaborate internally within Red Hat, including the Product Management, Engineering, Alliances, and other marketing and sales teams, and with our ISV ecosystem counterparts to guide the implementation of marketing strategy
  • Lead and inspire the development of content to help gain mindshare and customer wins, e.g. messaging, thought leadership, presentations, sales plays, demos, reference architectures, battlecards, webpages, win wires, etc.
  • Actively evangelize the joint Red Hat OpenShift and ISV ecosystem solutions both internally and externally via webinars, social media, roadshows, industry events, customer briefings, sales training workshops, etc.
  • Gain the attention of industry analysts via customer campaign and field enablement programs
  • Develop and track the success metrics for the marketing strategy and its implementation

Required skills

  • 5+ years of experience in product or technical marketing, preferably with traditional or cloud-native applications, databases, or cloud computing
  • Bachelor's degree; master’s degree is a plus
  • Critical thinking skills with a proven ability to develop creative solutions
  • Ability to translate Red Hat OpenShift and ISV ecosystem technology features into customer benefits and business outcomes
  • Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills; experience presenting to medium to large audiences
  • Experience working effectively in a persuasion-oriented, cross-functional environment
  • Ability to work with some supervision in a startup-like environment
  • Basic understanding of the common technical jargon from the information technology (IT), software applications, databases, cloud, and DevOps areas
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% 
  • Experience with public cloud offerings like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), edge computing, or 5G
  • Experience with the following technologies and use cases cloud platform technologies, e.g., containers, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Pivotal, VMware vSphere, etc. is a plus
