Marketing Manager (Product)

DaisyBill is a loud frog in a small pond. In our blog and webinars, we expose the many injustices in the unfair workers’ comp system and we are known for fiercely defending the rights of doctors and other providers of services to injured workers. Because of our unique voice, persistent (and in some quarters, unpopular) advocacy, and, of course, outstanding strength of product, our reach and influence are far out of proportion to our size.

We would like to extend our influence and hone our story to sell some product. Which is where you come in. We’re looking for an experienced B2B SaaS marketer who can contribute to strategy, develop tactics, and write compelling market copy.

You will bring people through the funnel, all the way to the point where they hit “Schedule a Call.” Engagement is your job. This will be accomplished mostly through digital means, starting (but not ending) with our currently somewhat creaky website.

Not to worry about the creaks, because you’ll take a deep dive into our website: Re-thinking existing pages and crafting new pages, while telling our story with personality, humor, and genuineness. Once somebody lands on our website, it’s your job to make them want to stay there until they:

  • Are convinced of our authority in the field
  • Want to join our Daisy community
  • Sign up for our mailing list, and/or
  • Explore and bookmark our many, many resources

You will eventually also tackle other pieces of marketing, such as email marketing, video creation, social media, etc. As well, you will promote and have input into our blogs and webinars, which form the bulk of our current marketing efforts.

As part of a small but mighty team you will report directly to the CEO to develop strategies and implement tactics. Alongside this role, we are also hiring a junior marketer to support you, and already have a terrific in-house blogger and wonderfully talented design team.

Responsibilities

  1. First and foremost, attract and convert
  2. How do we introduce ourselves to people who don’t already know about DaisyBill?
  3. For those who know us but don’t use any of our software, how do we get them to consider using DaisyBill?
  4. Once they’re considering us, how do we get people to sign up, pay up, and then actually use our software?
  5. Messaging and positioning for marketing. We think we already have this mostly figured out, but you will develop and explore our outline and fill it out.
  6. Articulate the value of our products to potential users, such as why and how our solutions solve some difficult problems.
  7. Tell authentic stories about our brand
  8. Understand our software and understand our users to connect the two.
  9. Draw up a positioning document or a list of key messages.
  10. Work with other team members to track customer pain points and how they translate into feature requirements and the product roadmap.

What we already know

We’ve already done a lot of research and thinking. For example, we really know our competition and our customers (and how!) so there’s not much market research needed.

Also, we have an in-house department that does exactly what our software users do (a niche version of medical billing), so we have a lot of insight on how our users behave, as well details of their pain points. Accordingly, we rely on qualitative feedback instead of quantitative. We have also tried many tactics and channels for our specific industry and we can tell you what hasn’t worked so far, such as highly segmented personas or Facebook and LinkedIn ads.

Skills

  1. Great understanding of conversion, website, and product marketing best practices
  2. Tremendous and prolific writing skills
  3. Ability to develop and use the right tone and style
  4. Ability to work cross-functionally
  5. Deeply collaborative and iterative approach

Traits

  1. Alignment with DaisyBill GOAT Values
  2. Strong desire to communicate effectively and clearly
  3. Open to working outside the conventional growth marketing framework
  4. Ego-less about work product, because we are inveterate editors and revisitors
  5. Positive team member

Qualifications

5+ years in product and/or growth marketing, preferably for a SaaS product

How you will benefit

We are a small group of extremely smart, inclusive, and nice people, who like making a real difference in people’s lives. You will be joining a company that is profitable and bootstrapped, that retains many of the benign attributes of a startup but without the worries of running out of runway or crushing work hours (we all deserve to live our lives).

  • Work in an environment where you, your work, and your ideas matter and have an impact
  • Work in a mission-driven company that also has high potential and growth
  • Build your own success story together with us
  • Start-up feel but backed up by the confidence of a proven product with a very stable user base - this is a very successful high-volume business
  • Self-organized, self-responsible, and entrepreneurial employees
  • Good medical benefits
  • Respect for the 40-hour work week (personal time is sacred)

About DaisyBill

Workers’ Comp Made Better

If you are injured at work, most industrialized countries establish workers’ compensation systems that require your employer to provide for all of your care and treatment while you heal from your injury. In the United States, each state sets up its own workers’ compensation rules for employers to assume financial responsibility for injured employee care.

The world would be a better place if injured employees could access the best medical treatment and services. Unfortunately, the complexities of workers’ comp often frustrate and discourage medical providers; as a result, many providers refuse to treat employees injured while at work.

DaisyBill is built for these providers and eliminates many of the frustrating complexities that burden the process of getting paid by employers for the services and treatment needed by injured employees.

Our customers are our number one priority; they stay with us because we constantly keep them top of mind as we develop technology to make their workers’ comp billing world so much easier and better. We adore our customers and our customers adore us -- they make DaisyBill the best at what we do.

DaisyBill was founded in 2012 and is an established and profitable niche enterprise B2B technology company. We preserve many of the benign characteristics that fueled our early start-up days but without the worries of answering to outside equity.

The DaisyBill Team devotes all of our collective expertise, talent, and resources to the pursuit of our mission of improving injured employees’ access to the very best medical care. Join our team!

DaisyBill GOAT Values
