Head of Product Marketing (New Role)

Marketing Team, Permanent, Full-Time

 

We grew from zero to 3.5 million customers in the last 3 years, but that is just the beginning. Financial resilience and wellbeing is an increasing focus area for millions of people around the country (especially in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact). So, we have the potential to help many more customers on their journey of ‘moving on up’. The Head of Product Marketing will lead the effort to reach our product’s value proposition to existing and potential customers.

 

The Head of Product Marketing will report to the CMO and will line-manage a Product Marketing Manager. They will work very closely with the product and design teams to craft and communicate our value proposition. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of consumer/mass-market tech products and how they build value by becoming indispensable parts of customer lives. They will have the ability to understand user needs and analyse user behaviour to help shape the right product strategy. They will work closely with product managers, product designers and copywriters to shape the product experience and messaging.

 

What will you do?

Understand our customers and our target market - their needs, drivers and motivations

Understand our competitive landscape and the context in which we operate in the market

Shape the propositional messaging for different aspects of our product

Be a key contributor to product roadmap planning and ideation workshops

Work with cross-functional squads to plan and launch product features

Test and scale product marketing initiatives across different customer touchpoints

Coordinate with product managers, design, copywriters and eCRM to plan and deliver customers communications, to build long-term engagement

Plan and execute a content strategy in partnership with other members of the team - content/copywriters, UX designers and product managers

Create a product marketing approach and processes that’s right for TotallyMoney and grow the discipline for the needs of the business

Manage and coach a Product Marketing Manager, identifying development opportunities and helping to establish best practice for the product marketing function

 

About you:

You have demonstrable experience (5-8 years) marketing tech products to consumers or comparable experience in B2B2C product marketing

You have a keen understanding of technology products and how they grow and engage customers - an interest in the “psychology of digital engagement” is highly valued 

You’re an outstanding communicator, with a strong appreciation of storytelling

You demonstrate strategic thinking and lateral leadership qualities

You’re analytical and structured in your thought processes

Strong organisational and planning skills

You’re curious and have a drive to learn constantly

You’re autonomous in your work but know how to ask for support when you need it
