Director, Product Marketing

Founded by fintech executives from LearnVest, N26 and Stash and backed by Bain Capital Ventures, Homebrew and Inspired Capital, Orum is powering the future of financial services by enabling immediate, frictionless money movement. Orum's API-based product gives enterprise customers unique funds availability modeling, empowering them with the information required to shift to real-time payments, and then grants access to real-time payment rails without necessitating a bank integration. Orum’s flagship product, Foresight is currently available via Private Beta.


We’re looking for a Product Marketing Director to join our growing marketing team. 


You will play a critical role in leading, developing, positioning, and delivering Orum’s solutions to market. The ideal candidate is both analytical and strategic and can effectively lead cross-functionally to drive results.  You will set the vision and ensure end-to-end execution of Orum’s product-marketing strategy, identifying key needs and milestones across different teams, and working with other key stakeholders and leaders to ensure delivery and results. You will develop a deep understanding of the customers, market, and competitors and work with product management to ensure that product strategy is crafted around this understanding. In addition, you will drive messaging and positioning and lead the overall sales enablement and coordinate marketing efforts.  The ideal candidate is passionate about FinTech, customer experience, and APIs, is excellent at developing customer and market insights, and excels at communicating complex or technical topics in a simple, customer-oriented manner. This person should be an excellent written and visual communicator as well as committed to flawless execution. 



As a member of the Marketing team, you will:

  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates Orum’s products, Foresight and Momentum, from the competitors and status quo alike
  • Sales enablement – communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of your products
  • Market intelligence – be the expert on your buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on your competition and how to win share in a nascent, but contested, category
  • Competitive research - Perform continual assessment of competitive landscape, develop and refine competitive positioning
  • Work closely with product and marketing teams to craft product positioning and messaging and oversee delivery of marketing copy, emails, landing pages and videos
  • Lead cross-functional teams, setting the strategy and milestones, to ensure optimal delivery of end-to-end product marketing assets; provide ongoing feedback and solicit ongoing feedback from other teams to drive alignment and results. 

 


Requirements

  • 5+ years of software product marketing experience
  • Ability to generate compelling and easy-to-understand product marketing content that highlights product benefits and enhances customer experience
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties
  • You understand the complexity of payment systems and the way money moves via ACH
  • You have an understanding of machine learning and data modeling and incorporating models into payment systems
  • You are prepared to make decisions independently and move quickly
  • You act like an owner and will get all of your work over the finish line
  • You excel in a very fast-paced and fluid small-team environment at a growing company.
