Director of Product Marketing

We are seeking a Director of Product Marketing to join the Vendasta rocketship!


The Director of Product Marketing will oversee the strategies and tactics used across Vendasta’s Marketplace team to bring Vendasta’s platform and product suites to both new and existing customers.


At Vendasta, the Product Marketing function exists at the intersection of product, marketing, and sales. The primary goal of the Product Marketing function is to bring our solutions to market. Product Marketing is responsible for developing positioning, messaging, competitive differentiation, and delivery of our products to market. As a Director of Product Marketing, you will also be responsible for sales enablement, sales & marketing alignment, bringing new features and products to marketing, working with our product teams, and leading customer research. 


Responsibilities

  • Work closely with product marketing teams to develop winning plans, iterate over our strategies, and ensure the path forward is clear for all
  • Lead and grow a team of Product Marketers to ensure the success and adoption of our products as they go to market
  • Ensure product marketing teams are effectively measuring their efforts and roll those results up into easily understood reports for senior executives
  • Develop the strategy for pricing, messaging, packaging, promotion and selling of Vendasta’s Marketplace products 
  • Create a unifying set of accepted practices and frameworks across product marketing for: 
  • Product launch plans
  • Sales enablement
  • Collaboration with demand generation
  • Ensure that we have exhaustive competitive research and that research is turned into tools for Sales, Support, Success and Marketing
  • Train and support sales and customer support teams on new tools and products
  • Make data-driven decisions to move the team and product forward and hit company goals
  • Keep the company up-to-date with market trends and competition, and keep us several steps ahead of the competition at all times
  • Act as a thought leader for Vendasta’s solutions, including speaking engagements and written works


Skills & Qualifications

  • 7+ years of product marketing experience. Preference given to those with with 2 years of experience in a market-facing role (e.g. delivering presentations to customers and prospects, conducting competitor analysis and market research)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing; MBA preferred
  • Expertise with marketing automation tools such as Marketo, Pardot and Omniture, and Google Analytics
  • Exceptional ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is—or isn’t—working
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties
  • Strong public speaking skills; comfortable in front of large, senior groups
  • Ability to easily adjust to change in an agile manner—possess an insatiable curiosity and desire to innovate
  • Power user of networking tools such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
  • Possess a relentless drive to solve your customer’s problems better than anyone else
