Fishtown has just started the process of building alliances with our key partners within the data analytics community - including technology providers like Snowflake, Databricks, Fivetran, HVR, Looker, Mode, AWS and GCP, and the consulting firms at the forefront of helping companies adopt the analytics engineering point of view. Because these relationships are crucial to our growth strategy, we are looking for someone to develop a well-managed partner marketing program. This is a highly cross-functional role that will work with both our Marketing and Alliances teams, as well as with a diverse group of stakeholders throughout the data analytics industry.

For this role, we are looking for someone who already understands the fundamental value proposition of dbt, and can work closely with our partners to shape joint go-to-market strategy, and directly develop engaging content. An understanding of modern data analytics is required, and dbt experience is highly preferred. You should have a track record of running successful cross-functional projects, but no direct experience in product or content marketing is required (though it certainly is a plus!)

Who we are

At Fishtown Analytics, we have developed strong opinions on how companies should practice analytics.

Specifically, we believe that:

--> Code, not graphical user interfaces, is the best abstraction to express complex analytic logic

--> Data analysts should adopt similar practices and tools to software developers

--> Critical analytics infrastructure should be controlled by its users as open source software

--> Analytic code itself — not just analytics tools — will increasingly be open source

It turns out that a lot of other people believe this too! Over the course of the past several years we've built a community of 4,000+ people and 1,300 companies who are using our ideas, products, and workflows to conduct analytics, including Lyft, Monzo, GitLab, Snowflake, the ACLU, Amazon, JetBlue, and RentTheRunway. Our product, dbt (https://www.getdbt.com/), has come to be synonymous with the practice of analytics engineering, defining an entire industry.

We’re on a mission to empower analysts to create and disseminate organizational knowledge. If this sounds like a mission you could get behind, we're excited to get your help to continue to power this growth into the future.

In this role, you can expect to…

  • Cultivate a diverse set of relationships within partner organizations, including product managers, analytics engineers, marketers, sales leaders, and partnership managers.
  • Develop and support a brand voice for our alliances program.
  • Develop joint messaging frameworks with our critical technology partners.
  • Develop materials that help services partners introduce dbt Cloud to their customers.
  • Work with partners and customers to author joint customer success stories.
  • Co-develop instantly useful content for the dbt community and potential dbt customers, including webinars, videos, blog series, and white papers.

You are probably a good fit if you...

  • Have experience in the data analytics, data science or data engineering space. Previous experience specifically in dbt is a big plus.
  • You’re a strong project manager and can keep lots of different stakeholders aligned on a shared goal.
  • Are an unusually strong communicator, both verbally and in writing -- you can create content for a variety of channels & formats, tailor a single message for unique audiences, and express complex ideas visually.
  • Are a self-starter, and have the ability to juggle multiple projects and competing deadlines, with stakeholders both inside and outside the company.
  • Are willing to learn dbt and associated technologies. To market it well and have productive conversations with our partners you’ll need to develop your skills in Git, SQL, data modeling, data warehouse performance, and visualization tools.

Compensation

  • Salary: $90,000 - $115,000
  • Equity: 0.2% - 0.05%
  • Benefits: Unlimited vacation, 401k w/ 3% guaranteed contribution, excellent healthcare, and paid paternity/maternity leave
